Andy's Blog:

February

Still having the frustrating issues with 1&1 builder, so am limited on what I want to do, so very simple changes to the Site in the last couple of months, with a few site corrected. Not much, am contacting 1&1 to see if they can stop farting around and get their thumb out their arse and see if they can fix well being able to use Internet Explorer Tables or Firefox fullstop.

Andy

January 2012

Have been very quite on developing the Web Site in the New Year! Oh Happy New Year, well I've got to be honest I'm not developing the site due to the frustrations of using the 1&1 App to change the Web Site. Apparently the WebSite Builder only works with Internet Explorer, but this means you can't amend settings on Tables (as you can see 2 tables for the blog). Tried Firefox which does allow the tables to be amended but 1&1 Web Site builder says it doesn't recognise the version of Firefox so I'm buggered.

Going to try and find a way around this as it's frustrating. Oh why I'm on and if your thinking of using 1&1, be aware trying to update your site during the day is terrible with the server missing data in the synch and sometime screwing everything up. That's why I've in the last year only updated the site in the early hours when the Insomnia hits.

Rant over...........

December

Well why not, yet another early morning:

So I thought I'd do some work on the TNS forum and also just update the Web Site.  Hope who is now 6 is now too old for Dora so her links have been removed from here Web Page.  Also just corrected a few links that people had kindly pointed out.

So yes just a quick update as we look forward to another festive period.

Merry Christmas in advance.

Just logged on quick style, well you have to with 1&1 during the day, their Web portal never works well during the day.......but managed to change a few links that didn't work or needed to be redirected.

Oh & Happy New Year for 2012.

Andy
November

Another early morning and I've updated the kids Web Pages to add the latest games & Music they are listening too.

Also added a couple of new sites to the football pages, one which is aptly called 'Stadium Porn', I found it through the Pitch Invasion Web Site, and not through a search engine as you'll hang on the key word. ;-)

In regards to the rest of November, the office is finally up and running here @ home.  We swapped 2 of the rooms around upstairs so Hope could have a bigger bedroom.  As you can imagine with a young family it's not simple moving 2 rooms, the amount of clutter was unbelievable also need to sort some new furniture out in the office just to get it so we don't have any more boxes here, there and everywhere.

Once we are sorted I'll look to do some more updates.

Andy
October

Well it's the first of the month, got up early again, so thought I'd have a go @ updating the Web Site as it's been more than a month.  Sorry September.

Have added TNS back to the Contributions page and will do for the Football page too, it's a love hate thing with me, but I do blame this bloke for getting me back on the TNS wagon a they say.  Focus for today will be to add the Web Site back for TNS, the NFL season as it's starts to ramp up and just a good general tidy up.

Well I've done before like buses 2 come along in 2 days, done some more work, mainly around the Football Page as the TNS Web Site was revamped overnight and I've had to amend all the link details to reflect.  All sorted now.

Okay added a little more to the site mid October, okay I know this is new as I usually have a visit a month of late.  Just the bookmarks were building in Opera so an early Saturday morning thought I'd have a go.  So created a new NFL page and updated some of the other pages and move their locations a little.  On the Technical Links page there are 2 new logos to take me to other key pages on the Site, I'll see how they work?

Just a quick Thursday afternoon where I've updated the contribution page just to show the work I do for the World Community Grid.

Andy
September

Sorry nothing updated on the site for this month!

Don't really know why, I know @ the start of the month my Project @ IBM went live and that was intense first week or so, but that tailed off, and in a way I've just relaxed more and recharged the batteries.

Andy
August

Same old story, work and then a vacation has stopped me from doing any work on the Web page.  But a quiet Saturday afternoon, and have just done some tidying up on the some of the Technical Web Link page.  Also added a couple of fixes to the Vista, XP & DS Fixes page after a decorating incident, read to find out....

Made some changes to the Football page, moving away from the TNS site, also added a couple of links for Hope after she found yet more girly make up & hair games.

Final bit I did Saturday and this always happens, had done some changes to the Contribution's page, removing TNS out of there, but had left the box blank.  So what should have been 30 seconds work turned out to be over an hours work of correcting the entire Home page.  For some reason I over wrote it with the entire Contributions pages including the links on the left to boot.  Not sure I did that, but luckily I had a backup and used this, to recreate my Home page.

Just logged back on Sunday morning just to tidy a few things up, tables and bits I missed on the Home page.

Andy
July

So again time caught up on me, and not much more was done in June.  So to another batch of insomnia & well I may as well add a few things to the Web Site I've bookmarked over the past month.

So added a new Fix to the Fixes page to cover how to watch MKV media file.  Also updated the Technical Web Sites now I'm trying out Google+, well you may as well!  Also added 4 more links to the Football Page, to cover stats, more stats & Head to Head results for Wigan.

School Holidays soon, so will see how much time I can spend updating the Web Site with the sun cracking the flags....yeah right, it's WIgan.

Have also created a new page so I can add and track things I want to do before February 2020 when I'm 50.

Andy
June

In what started so well in May, I kind of just petered out half way through the month, I'm going to blame work again.

So to June, and I'm hoping the Sun that is dawning over Wigan this morning is here to stay.  After a great, sunny & dry April, we had miserable, dull & wet May here up North, why the south of England my friends are using Hammers & Pick Axes to do their gardens.

So to the Web Page, I've added another entry to the Fixes page, showing you and myself how to link together your Twitter & Facebook accounts, to have a seamless link between the 2 so you just need to post on the one social media site.

Been also consolidating where I leave my scribe, so have produced a very simple page with just those key Web Sites on.  Going to see if this means I use this instead of the 'Technical Web Links' page, if I find I do I may get rid of it, as I do find I do tower where I surf on the Web and as they say you should get out more.

Andy
May

It must be the start of the month.....

So as we enter May, we start off with a RIP to our beloved Ayrton Senna, 1st May 1994 seems so many years ago.

So to the Web page, well with the weather being so nice here in sunny Wigan, of course a lot of it has been spent decorating the son's bedroom, yep as a bloke you can understand the logic.  But in between this I have escaped out into the garden, so just back dated some of the work I've done in the Garden this year.

Updated the Football page with some more links that I use when writing Articles for 'This Northern Soul' Web Site.  It's the new unofficial Wigan Athletic Web Site after 'YOTAC'.  There's some links on form guide & official pages I reference just validate what we write.

Added a few more links to the kids Web Sites (Zak & Hope), so they have more links to recent Web Sites they have found.  Have added a cracking video of a fully loaded IL76 cargo plane taking off @ an Australian airport, just look how much runway they use!

Have also added a few links to the Technical Web Links, bring back 'This Northern Soul' & also a new Torrent Web Site for searched to see what is out there?

Andy
April

I know first day of the month and I'm on changing the Web Page, but hey why not.

Added some more to the page on Ziggy the Groodle, also changed one of the icons on the front page along on the Technical links page.

The changes are all to do with the new Web Site for Wigan Athletic I've done some work to build, so alas we are transferring from the established YOTAC.

Let's see how we get on as I'd like to add a little more to page about Ziggy, also the work I've done in the Poly Tunnel too, Spuds are already in.

& on the 2nd day I really did some work, I've updated the Music page, added a couple more icons to the Technical Web Page.  Tidied up the Gardening Web Links page and done a lot of work on the Football page to add some new Icons in a dedicated page.  One of those things the weather may be nice outside & I may have left the Web site alone for weeks on end, but when your in the mood your in the mood, also helps that 1&1 software isn't acting up like it normally does.

& on the 3rd day and as many days on the bounce, I added a few more picture of the Groodle to his own page.

& on the 9th day I did a little more.  I've pulled away from the unofficial side of Wigan Athletic, so have move a few key icons to other parts of my Web Site.  Also have added a few new searches on my daughters Web Site page so she can search her best video by Lady Ga Ga & Michael Jackson.

Andy
March

Not had time to update the Web page in the last month, new Project @ work and the new Web page is just about to go live.

So have just tweaked one of the Web page icons a it's path was broken.

Will try and find some time to update the garden 2011 & Ziggy pages as these are now v out of date, also going to look to create a new/update Football page with it's own dedicated links:

http://www.zonalmarking.net/

http://billsportsmaps.com/

http://www.footballshirtculture.com/

To name but a few I want to add to the Page.

I'll be back.

Andy
February

So back to developing the Web page, for February I have new account @ work, so been busy there, as you do.  But found time as Insomnia stuck again this morning, to move a few Icons on the Technical Web Links page.

Have moved the F1 links up and moved down the NFL & Cricket as the SuperBowl & Ashes have been completed.  The F1 season is just around the corner, so will be spending most of the year concentrating on these.

Also added a couple more around Science with 'Higgs Boson' and a new Social Media Site called FormSpring, well GQ magazine did tell me it was the 'in thing' in 2011......

The new account @ work should settle down in the next few weeks, so will spend some time like in January just tidying up the Web Site and updating the 2011 Gardening page, as the weather starts to get warmer.

Anyway off to celebrate my 41st birthday tomorrow........

Andy
January 2011

Happy New Year

So it's took a little time after Xmas and the New Year to get back to the Web page, what with returning back to work and the kids back to school, I've been concentrating on getting healthy again!

So I've amended the URL's of the pages to move from default numbers to relevant names, I just realised when posting details on Facebook & Twitter.

Also removed the BBC RSS feed as I'm not sure what I did but the news had just frozen @ April 2010, so have removed it and will have a look at other feeds, strange as the feed on the Sports page seems to work just fine.

Have update the majority of pages, really housekeeping the whole Site and amending text so it read relevant to today.  Added a few more links to the Technical Links page and created a new Garden Project 2011 link adding what I plan to cover/catch up on this time?

Andy

December

I've decided I need to do some work on my Web Page, so have tided up the Favourites on my Laptop to see what I want to add.  And I've also gone from Firefox to IE to Opera in the last 2 months through just how frustrating the Web Applications can be.  Fingers crossed Opera looks okay...

Realise it's been almost 2 months since I did any work, and as I'm paying for this service and like many others watching what I'm spending I don't want to be wasting my money.

Have started to look through the Web to see if I can use another application to maintain my Web Page, as something as simple as trying to transfer a Web linked Icon is almost impossible.

Have done some work on a Word document to update the Ziggy page, due to concerns about the amount of work and fear of losing it, I just hope I can add the work onto the Web Site?

& the very next day now I've got the hang of Opera I've added some more Web links to all 3 pages (Technical, Zak & Hope), I've added in another fix after we had a 12029 error on Zak's PC.

Just made a few changes to the Technical Web Page removing link to Web pages that no longer work and adding a new one:

Andy

November

I can't really say why I didn't get anything done in November, I'm getting the feeling the I&I Websitebuilder is becoming frustrating with the size my Web Page is getting, with the amount of repeat work and slowness.

Andy
October

Well my laptop has been hijacked by my 5 year old daughter, which I'm not complaining, the earlier she become competent on a Laptop the better.

So her own Web page has been developed a little more with a couple of Web links that she's recently been playing on.

Andy
September

I'm hoping I can do a little more on the Web page this month.  My daughter Hope now wants her own Web Page like my Son's Zak's, so as she is now using my Laptop I've gone ahead and created it for her, no doubt it will grow.

Trying and trying to find time & motivation to update the page about my dog Ziggy, I know it's not edge of the seat stuff, just I want to put things I've learned along the way with dogs.  Just if 'd have read my Web page on Dog's (once it's done) I don't think I would have got Ziggy in the 1st place.

Updated a little on the Garden Project 2010, I need to add the pictures for the new dtrainage system I've put in over August & September to stop the puddles.

Andy
August

Not sure where the days have gone, but had some time this morning, so worked on transferring the final Games links onto their own Web Page, and also added a couple onto the Technical Web links.

Done some more work this morning whilst having another of those Insomnia bursts.  Added some submissions to the fixes page, which I've neglected of late.

Andy
July

When the World Cup is over, & there is 1 match to go I'll concentrate on other things, with the matches getting less & less I've started to do a few more things round the house.  The drive way is looking good, and glad I got that sorted before the Hose Pipe ban!  As for the Web Page, done some work this morning on the Technical Links, I've been lazy & using my bookmarks, so I thought I'd transfer a couple.  I'll do some in the next week or so, along with some more work on the Web Page for Ziggy.

Need to find time to do some more work on the Web Page, mid August & I've had it almost 2 years, just updated the links in the Technical Page to move a few logos up as they become more relevant.

Have created a new Page to bring together all the Games links for my kids, just to make the Technical page easier to manage, just transferring the links, as Copy & Paste just brings across the picture and not the embedded link (damn!).  With his have updated the front page, and added a few more logo's to the Technical page, around F1 & other bookmarks I've collected in the last couple of months.

Need to take some photo's of how the garden & Polytunnel are doing, but as it's rained for the entire month of July, it's dodging the raindrops just to get some fruit & veg from out of there, no time for pictures......

Andy
June

Other than a few days early in May, I've not done any work on the Web page in well over a month.  My excuses, well work, preparing for a Holiday and then when I returned from vacation we have the World Cup.  So with more Insomnia this morning, I thought I'd get cracking with just a quick update (there's no football on @ 5am), & it's good just to let people know I'm still around.

Well I do promise over the next day or so I'm going to update the Garden 2010 page, the veg are growing well and with the automatic watering system it's like a jungle in there, I've already sneaked some early Rocket & Carrots.  I will add details to my Ziggy page, I've started and then never continued.  & of course the link pages I have a few for the Technical & garden sections, to add....

I will add some more about my Dog Ziggy I promise, it's just with this World Cup it just takes all your time.  Have done some work this morning on the front page, fixing a few links that didn't work and adding details about further Blogging.

Will move around the Web page and update where I can, got an hour or so before the kids get up.

Andy
May

Done a little work on the Technical Links, moving them around as the football season ends and I'm concentrating on my health again, it's a yo-yo thing.

Have updated the Gardening project & will add pictures later, as the Bamboo frame is now up for the climbing plants, and all the tubs now have seedlings of all shapes & sizes growing.

Also have start done some work on the YOTAC web page publishing my first pre match review, I'd quiet chuffed the editor let me lose on the world, I'll have to see if I can do more for next season?

Need to do some more work on the Ziggy page, just realised I've now walked over 200 miles with him, hence the health thing, I've lost almost a stone in weight just pounding the pavement with him.

Andy
April

The weather is getting warmer & have updated Garden Project 2010 to show the seed I've planted ready for this year.

There are all kinds in there and the Rocket has already started to bud, so lets just see how well we do this year under cover?

Thinking of adding a new Page to cover the trials & tribulations of our Dog 'Ziggy', all I can say is we went in Naively and we are learning fast and it's getting easier & easier.  Think I'll just add a few pictures of him growing and then all the Tips we've picked up from Ceaser Milan on the 'Dog Whisperer' programme.

Updated the Home page, I'm always amending my English....

Updated some of the Links on the Technical Pages too.

5th April, done a few more links on the Technical Links page, though keep getting some errors on the Server, with logo's disappearing, may send in a eMail to 1&1.

Updated the Garden 2010 project now the seeds are coming through:

Also update the Media Centre page as I finally found a solution, in the end it was very simple as it always is, but at last I can now leave movies on my Laptop and watch them from the comfort of the lounge on the big TV.  Now the next steps will be to purchase a NAS drive and add the converted WMV files to this, to see if we then get the XBox to play these films, so I can switch off the Laptop.

Andy
March

To be honest February was well a little under used, especially when I had to pay the Web fees.  Oh 1&1 why can't you just make your payments monthly.......

Anyway back to me Web Page.  I didn't get round to doing the Family Tree work, so will try either this month weather permitting (i.e. it starts to Rain) if not probably April over the Easter Holidays.

As I believe I'll be in the Garden most of March with my new Poly Tunnel....Ta Da....okay I know I've wanted one for about 2 years.  So instead of starting with those Industrial looking ones, taking up the entire Garden and scarring the kids for life.  I'm starting with a basic Poly Tunnel I bought from eBay with my Birthday money (I know there are many cliches in there).

Will cover everything I do as I build and then start to Sow & Plant in it as I did for the 2009 Projects with my new page Garden Project 2010.  & we'll just see how we get on, and of course all the other things I've planned for 2010 will be updated in this page.

Found a few decent Gardening Web pages & Forum Pages, so I'll add a these links into the new Gardening Web Link page, and develop this.

Also I have loads of bookmarks I need to add to the Web, and will do this in the renamed Technical Web Links.

The sun has finally appeared, what do we say AMEN.

More link work today as well, my daughters off school with illness, so why she's using the DS I'll add a few more links from my bookmark list.  Found this good site today:

Well what can I say....'Grow your own'...I tried & I was booted off.....I placed a submission on  and responded to one of the posts, and then next thing I know I have the following when trying to log on:

I've even sent a couple of eMails to their task Id asking them to explain or see if they have made an error, but no response and as kit's been a week now, I think I'll sod that for a game of soldiers and look else where for a gardening forum to help my PolyTunnel.

Done a little work on both the links pages, adding respective links on the 2 Web Link pages, so I can access easier, well there is an extra 1.3 cm of Mouse movement no longer needed.  & a few F1 pages too, spent some time this month trying to see if I can get a little more out of Twitter....

Andy
February

Well I've started February will some updates on the Links page, and deleted the Forum page as I was getting some strange submissions, think it was either computer generated, or someone with a weird sense of humour.

Plan to do some work on the Family Tree for Half Term with my Grand Parents & we'll see how that goes?

Andy
January 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well found some time after the fun that is Christmas & New Year to update the Links page, I'd done some work mid December to put the latest links onto a Word document, but only got round to now adding to the Web page.

All the best.

More links got added as I ran through my old 'My Yahoo' page and pulled some of the Web Link I had on there but forgot about, including a good one covering Skyscrapers .....okay I know I'm a geek.......

Added a little more to the Web page, but more background work I've been meaning to do in regards to the Search engine data, so people searching on Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc, find what they are looking for, or come across my Web Page, well I've had over 6,800 unique hits, so I must be doing something right?

Added a few more links that I pulled from my old Yahoo Home page, creating new sections for Film & TV and a Newspaper section.

Well the dog got me up early, so why it was quiet I added a little more to the Web Page, adding a few new Web Links, and added some more links 8 instead of 4 on the Welcome Page.

Andy
December 09

Well I really didn't do much this month on the Web Page, so Merry Christmas.

Andy
November 09

Left the Web page along for a few weeks, but as I have a quiet weekend, I thought I'd do some work on the Web before my son Hijacks my Laptop.  So all the pages I've collected in the last few weeks, I've updated the Web Links & added a Video Zak likes about Ninja's on the Funny & Interesting section.

Think if I have some time this weekend I may do some further work on the 'About Me' Section & update the Family Tree for the 'Taylor' side of the family.

Also something new for my coding is a RSS feed, have started with a simple one & the BBC's News & Sport service, but will see how I can develop this?

Also have done some more link work, and just running through my Favourites & the laptop just to make sure they are all on there.

Have done the work on the Family Tree for the Taylor family, so now got the family looking @ the empty boxes to see where the details can be added?

Little link added for Zak for his new delve into Club Penguin.

Have added a few more links to my Web Page, I've also decided to remove the Business Page!  I just wanted to make sure what ever I wrote, I didn't find myself getting into trouble.  At the end of the day that sound like too much hassle, so I just deleted the page.

Andy
October 09

Done a little work on the Web page this month, updated the Garden Project page, the work is now done, the turf is in and the Veg patch is cleared.

So we've updated some work we've planned for 2010, and also a few slight changes on the Web links as one of the Premiership links has succome to the totalitarian approach of the Premier League & their data.

Will add some more links, and going to have a go @ updating the Family Tree and posting on the Web.

On the 17th I've gone through all the Bookmarks that Zak & I've made on Firefox & added them into the Links page this Saturday afternoon.

Andy
September 09

The planned work on the Link page didn't go ahead @ the end of August, well the TV was good that night, so we dragged into September.  & with it a new approach to how I've done the links.  I was looking to get more to the page, do I work on all the Graphics and make them smaller?  Work on Multiple Link Pages and add in common links.  Instead I went for a simpler approach, instead of batching the links across the page, I've gone so they are in similar columns.  So we can see New & Sport, Technical & Social Web Pages.  Okay you still get to see the same number on the screen, but the offering seems to be better.

Oh the nights are drawing in, and the Garden other than some turf I'll sort out this weekend is coming to it's end with Autumn coming, so it's be harvesting, mowing & tidying up ready for Winter.

So the fence is finally done, the weather in September has been really good so for the last 3 weekends I've been able to finish off the Fence and okay I know it's a fence, but as a Home is a man's Castle, I've been able to add a fence around it and claim it as being mine.  Now I can sort out what's within it now.

Added a few more web links as Zak has found more games and is BMX made @ the moment, check out his latest YouTube

Have also been frustrated with trying to sort out the Media Center on the XBox, but have had some guidance from a friend in Mark Screawn and will see if we can finally you the XBox controller to watch the films, play Music and go through the odd Holiday albums.....

Added yet more links, with Travelex to name but a few.  Also done some work this evening on some of the neglected pages, so done some work on the Football page, adding in some Football headlines, just to see if I can do this, I'll look to refine the contents and look & feel @ a later date.

Andy
August 09

Well after a vacation @ the end of July, I'm back to say 'how much does your Garden grow'.  It rained for 13 of the 14 days I was away here in the UK, and the Garden section shows pictures of how much the vegetable patch has grown, and also the first pickings.

Other than that it's been quiet on me Web Page, just going to spend the next few days just tidying a few things up, and bringing up to date.

Just realised as well that Mid August means the Web page is 1 year old.  Ta Da.

So we get to the end of August, and again I've done little with the Web page even though she's 1 year old, bad me.  Am going to do some Link work this evening though, I must have about 40 Favourites on my Firefox I need to add in.  May also have a potter round the garden and just keep her tidy too, no pictures now, other than harvest the Veg, re-turf the last of the lawn and the last 3 panels of the fence I think that'll be it for the Garden.  May have a look at what to do for Winter Vegetables?

Andy
July 09

After a flurry of work on the Web Page in early June, the work dried up after that, well all I can say is the weather was too good to be stuck inside.

So I've fixed the YouTube error on the football page, and added another video of my son taking his penalties @ the summer fayre, I'm so proud.

Will also do some work on the Garden page, to cover the work I've done, as the vegetables are coming on well, errrmmmm well except the Strawberries with seem to be a tasty snack for the resident Starlings.....

Little more work on the Vista, XP & DS fixes, I'd been storing up these fixes in my Bookmarks, and decided the list was getting too long, so added 3 or 4 new additions to the list of fixes you find along the way.  & just trying to put them all in 1 place, but with simple instructions without having to trawl through multiple pages.

Also added a few more useful Web Pages into the links page, including Sky+HD forums (I'm trying to sort out how to push the signal around the TV's in the house) & the statistical tool OECD, which I found to be a little freaky...

Added a new Page called 'Funny & Interesting', I'm just going to start adding all those great eMails & the pictures you get from friends, the one that do the rounds but do make you laugh.

Andy
June 09

May was a quiet month on the Web page, I've spent a lot of time in the Garden why the weather has been good, and the spuds and strawberries are doing well (I'm dead chuffed I can grow something).  Will update the page and the pictures, and see if we can make the images better.  Also added another "I've Learned" item, and will look going to update the Family tree over the next few evenings.

Also have been asked to see if I can help develop a School Web Page, so we'll see how that work goes.....

Have updated the Garden section of the Web page, with the planting now of the Vegetable patch.  Have also sorted the problem that was the image resolution on the pictures, just a simple setting on the Phone.  The links have been updated as well, with some of the seasonal links moved to the bottom of the page (Football & Relegation tracking), and new links for Cricket & Windows Live (which I'm developing on my laptop to see what it can do).

More on the Media Centre, and how to install WME, still no joy I've been able to synch the voice & pictures together, but can't seem to capture all of the movie or programme, I'll keep trying.  Also an update in the Garden section....well the weather is nice.......little more work this weekend, the garden is looking good.

Andy
May 09

Again May has been a slow month for the Web work, I've been busy @ work and when I can I'm getting out in the Garden.  The fence @ the back of the garden is done, so just a few panels @ the side of the house to get the job done.  Have been concentrating also on extending the lawn with the help of my son Zak, and with this clearing a few of the bushes @ the side of the garden the space we are getting back is great.  The first batch of seedlings in the veggie patch have been well loved by the birds, so the other seedlings are staying safe in the conservatory.

Going to spend an evening just tidying up the Web page, adding a few more Web pages that I've collected over the last month, and still have to look @ the quality of the photo's on the Garden section.

Got cracking, and have added the 'coming soon' section on the Fixes, added and amended the links page, updated the Media Centre section with my progress, and updated the Garden Centre Page with what I've done April & May, but without the pictures (it's dark outside).

Andy
April 09

Haven't done much work on the web page recently, have concentrated on the fence in the back garden (the weather's been great), and now starting to see the result of the work I've done.  Have taken a few days off over Easter, so may spend an evening just looking through the other pages, to see what I can do to add some more contents.

Also need to look at the quality of the pictures I'm using on the Garden project, working with Paint to scale the pictures down, but seem to be losing the quality, going to see what I can do to improve?

Andy

March 09

Spent most of my recent time working on the fence by the side of the house, (see Garden Projects) and only this weekend have I been able to add the details of this to the Web Page.  Have also found time to pot the seeds with my daughter for the veg plot, the experience and learning curve just got a little more complicated.

As for the Web page in general, have found a few more fixes that I'll look to add this week, and done some work this evening on the Links page, we are now at 64 links.

Plan to do some more work on the Interest page adding some pictures I've picked up around the History of Wigan Athletic.

Added to the Vista & XP fix page the DS Lite, as I've spent some time looking at this kit to see what you get from it, and added the details to this page, as I've been able to sort out my son's DS Lite to play multiple games, play his Music and also watch his favourite movies all in one neat little package.  Of course this is preparation for when my own arrives in a few days time.  Change the look, feel and key colour of the Web page, gone back to Green, and also some of the heading and fonts on the front page, with additional changes to the contents to reflect the DS Lite work.

The Links have had yet another move around, with more links added in around High Street chains, Games for my son, and for MotorSport in time for the start of the F2 season @ the end of March.  Also added a little to the Media Centre, as I've bought the kit now to get us On-line for the XBox, and we can see if we can develop the Media Centre from this?

The Garden Project has been updated with the latest pictures of the fence and how the seeds are growing.  Also now how the lawn work has now been completed, and other than moving around some top soil and turfing, everything is progressing well, and the first planting has started in the vegetable patch.

February 09

After a good start to the year and month, Family, Work, Facebook, The Sopranos & Gears of War 2 stopped any real work to t
he Web page for the last 2 weeks.

But tonight I've hooked up the TV and am watching Super Bowl 43 (I'm going for the Steelers) whilst working on the Web page and I've finished the links page.  I know it'll get additions and knowing me the order will change from time to time, but the page is done.  & working on the other pages to see if I can finally say the main structure is done, and then over the months of 09 keep adding to it, through the projects and adding my interests & business work.

Back after a bit, the weekends have been spent in the garden, putting up a new fence down the side of the house.  The fence was 19 years old and leaning against the bushes, so this the year to get is sorted after 2 damp summers and excuses.  Also took a day off work today to get a little more done towards the Vegetable patch, and so surprised what I've been able to get done in a day, have a look >> Link.  Just need to add some more soil, and then look to extend the lawn and work on the rest of the fence, I'm hoping the weather this years allows some great days in the garden.  Will start the seeding in the next few days too.

Oh completed Gears of War 2, I was surprised at how easy in the end it was and done playing every now again the evening, to get it @ Xmas and be done in early Feb, I'd say I'd done it in about 7 or 8 hours all in.....(well it felt like that).

Added 8 more Web Pages to the Links page, a variety from Railways, Chess, Domain Names & Ceefax.

Also with the half term have spent time in the garden with the kids, progressing the vegetable patch & fencing a great deal, check out the page to find out what we've got done!

January 09 - Happy New Year.

Added in a couple more on the "I've Learned" page, and added a link for my Web Page provided '1&1', also tidied up the Front page after some feedback.

Started the Garden Project page and added the photo's from day 1 of the project, also changed the look & feel of the Home Page, added in a few pictures and logo's to break up the text.

Added some more photos & text explaining the latest work in the Garden.  & have removed the table from the Vista & XP fix page, as IE feedback was saying that only the first title could be seen with no fixes, probably cause I do my work in Firefox.....

Have changed the page order again, moving the Interests down a few, have added some text there, not too sure if I need to rename this page to a Web Page ideas section, have added some work on Motor Sport, I'll keep working and thinking on this one!

More links and some text around my Family Tree and an application I'll look to use to present the Tree.

More additions to the Links and the work around the Garden, just the seeds no work in the Garden as the weather @ the weekends hasn't been kind.

December 08

Again added a few more links, and after working on a friends laptop, have added the fix to switch Hibernation on or off depending.

Am finding the Vista Laptop I'm using now is crashing every wee or so with a black Screen, lights are on but no body is at home.  So have created a Recovery Disk' and have used it once but the crashes have returned, so I'm going to give it 1 more fix, and then a dreaded rebuild, which means putting all those applications back on to your Laptop.

Oh started to watch Series 3 of Heroes again, whats with all this back and forth 4 years, it's getting confusing.

Just added another fix in regards to sorting out my Mobile phone so I can look @ Facebook whilst on the move, not sure if that's good or bad?.

Had a go at adding the Scan of my Family Tree document, and well it's not some out too good, so going to have to create in a new Word document.  Also tidied up the links page, with something as simple as Copy & Paste.

Put the Christmas Decorations up, and as usual 16 of the 120 lights didn't work, and finally sorted over this weekend.

As for the Web page, changed a few things around, the order of the pages, added a few more links, and checked on the visitor stats to see what the numbers where like, and surprised to find it said 900+, where as the tool showed 350+, not sure if one is unique visitors against visitor, but will look into this.

Added a new Web Page on things I've learned, well if you can't have fun along the way and put it on the Web what's the point.

More links, additions to those things I've learned, and also feedback an this fix for my laptop on Screen drivers that is driving me around the bend....

Merry Christmas.

Looks like the Screen fix for the Laptop has worked, 12 days and counting with no issues.  Over Christmas Father Christmas brought us a XBOX 360 so going to look to bring it on line, and then develop as a Media Centre.  Also added a few more links, and to "I've Learned...." bit.

Also looking to spend some quality time on my Web page over the Xmas & New Year Holidays, to meet my own 'Ready in Early 2009' target.

Have added in an Xbox link, and also added a new Page to document how I develop the Xbox into a Media Centre.

November 2008

Just added a few more links, amended the front page, and another fix on the fixes page.  Getting use to just adding little bits at a time on the Web page and watching it grow.

Now I'm back on Facebook, I've found the Flixter web Page, so Added this into my Links section.  Found another web Link Web Page that is like an American Underground Map, looks good, will have a look at this in the next week.

Have added three more links, and changed the look of the Web Page changing the logo & Navigation buttons to the left, and gone from 800 points to 1024 points width to give me more options.

October 2008

Work is slowing down, I love delegation.  So one weekend I thought I'd have a look around, and you know what it's like next thing you know it's 4 hours later, and I've create my front page with links, counters, Comments pages, and learning as I go along.  Hey I've created this Blog in a table, so I'll see what you get out of these things.

Going to start work on the pages in the next few weeks, and have a look at what formatting technique I can use.

Starting work on the Links, XP & Vista Fixes and  some ideas for the Interest Section (ideas @ the Moment).

If you going through the same thing as me, and just developing a Web page from scratch, would love to hear from you, swap ideas, etc.

Late October 2008

Added my first 2 Vista fixes and Hints, to help find hidden Folders, and make Vista Faster through 'Readyboost'.  All from my own experiences. :o)

September 2008

So busy @ work I've just not had time, all I developed on the Web Page was adding pages as I had ideas about the contents.

August 2008

Started the Web page, been looking around to see what packages where available.  Confused by the fact you had to purchase a Domain and also a Hosting service.  So traweled the Web to find a complete package to manage both in a single program and found 1&1.  Quick formatting and I had the basics, but back the family and work, and just a few minutes here and there.  Hey I've got this thing for ever (as long as I keep paying), so it can take time, and it gives me the chance to think of what to put in this thing!
