Other Interests

Random list of interests I will look to develop on this page together over time & see where they go?

Books

I know reading!  Some of us only ever do this on Holiday when the kids are jumping in the Swimming Pool.  So you have time to read that Stephen King novel that you wanted to see if it'll Kak your Pants?  But I found this good Book link, it allows you to add all the books you've ever read & also gives you recommendations on what other books are out there that suit you likes.  My list also includes some of the books I've read with the kids for their 'bedtime routine'.  But click the link & you can see what you can get from this Web Page.

YouTube

Must admit as a family we do enjoy using YouTube, if it's Cars & Crashes for my son, Lady Ga Ga & High School Musical for my Daughter and everything in between for myself.  Here's our YouTube Channel page, take a look:

Social Networks

You've seen them hit the web since the early 2000's, and have tried MySpace @ first but felt it restricted what you could do and I didn't have any friends, also it wasn't as good as linking similar people, i.e. work & school - may of changed since of course?

Have since used 'Facebook', at the start we had a 'love hate' relationship, but it has had it's benefits, I got in touch with all my old school friends, and got back together with my dad, which is nice.  I sometimes have a break from it as you can find it taking over your life, but seem to have a decent balance at the moment.  Also using 'LinkedIn', which is a Business orientated social network similar to Facebook & of course 'Twitter' which 'everything in 130 or so characters' & is linked to both my Facebook & LinkedIn accounts, so as soon as I update via Twitter all the accounts are updated.

Have also starting using an application called 'Digsby' which is excellent for bringing all the Social Networks together, and I would recommend it.  It allow you to see all your Social Network update as 'pop-ups' on your screen, and brings all your instant messaging together in one place.

It does allow you to do a global update linked in with all your Social networks, this isn't something I use much as I Twitter via my Phone, but it is a good option, here's a Video so you can have a look and make your choice:

More Sections I'll add in over the months & could include:

TV programmes & films and what I'm watching?

Xbox games, what I'm playing, and all the whizzy things you can no doubt get from the Xbox, may even bite my tongue and shell out £6 for their monthly magazine...

When I did have a MySpace account, I used their Blog feature to track my eating habits, weight & exercise, it's amazing once you know others are watching how this motivates you.  May put something on here now that 14st mark has been passed once again?

Stock Portfolio, something for the kids, just put £30 a month towards shares for the kids for when they reach 18 (2020 for Zak & 2023 for Hope) as an alternative way of saving money for them.  Been doing this since 2004 and in recent years we are having more ups and down, but may put on here what I'm purchasing for them, what other key shares we have and what approaches I'm taking when buying?

Last but probably not least want to look to see if I can develop the concept of a 'Truth Bar' on TV Adverts where Sarcastic comments appear on the bottom of the screen warning the views of 'reality', i.e. you will not pull good looking women like that if you spray your pits with Lynx.....

I'll add others, but lets see how this kind of Ideas pages progresses?
